So this weekend I thought it’d be cool to mirror an apple story. The story was concerning the disassembly of the intel iMac.
Within minutes I saw a jump in traffic and my processor on my FreeBSD box was put to work. I even discovered that the default config of Apache2 limits 150 concurrent connections, which I quickly changed.

I love this ad. Boy am I happy that Apple finally came out with a Mac ad again instead of the continuing iPod ads.
Oh and the voice is by Kiefer Sutherland.

From digg.com
One can notice that the processor is not soldered to the motherboard, but via a socket. So, it will be potentially possible to change it in the future, if Apple does not prevent such modifications by some hardware or software trick.

I have the pictures available locally as the site that this is originally hosted on is a tad bit overworked.
Keep in mind that these pictures are from the front end of the unit, not from the back end (User Serviceable section), thus it looks kind of… ugly.

I guess I finally woke up and feel like most people in the world. Here I thought I had found something good, something I could hold on to. Nope… I was wrong. As of now… I have significantly less motivation in doing my job. Believe me, I had a lot of it… but basically it feels like someone attempted to rip off my nads and then stomp on them… for something I didn’t even know I was doing wrong.
I really hope I feel better by Saturday.

So I installed a new theme called K2 (http://binarybonsai.com/wordpress/k2/). Right now under Firefox it has img borders around the images to the right. This should be fixed soon.
In the future this theme will allow me to integrate Gallery2 inside of Wordpress w/o breaking the width.

A video using the audio of Microsoft’s keynote speech at the 2006 CES, as well as portions of the Vista demo. However, this video substitutes Vista footage with footage of Mac OS X’s equivalent features. The result is pretty funny.

This is hilarious. It is Microsoft @ CES presenting Vista… however some replaced all the Vista screenies with OS X screenies with the same exact functionality… only difference is… OS X 10.4 is already out… Vista is “scheduled” to come out 4th Quarter 2006.

Michael Dell, Dell’s Chairman, announced at CES that future computers may use AMD processors in place of Intel’s processors that Dell is known for using.

They always say this, every year. I’m too lazy to look up sources but Dell has been saying this for years. My paranoid side even thinks Intel pays them to say this. It is a lot cheaper to pay one company to say they are going to use a product in the future and use it in court then to lose in court (AMD is suing Intel for illegal selling practices).

Last night I couldn’t wait until this episode started. I was in the other room (TV already on) when I heard the familiar BSG Prolugue music. Amazing episode and surprising too. I did think the “Last time on Battlestar Galactica” forshadowed a little, for example how it talked about Roslin’s cancer and how it could spread to her brain… the way she acted in this episode was very un-Roslin like.
Next week is conclusion to this major story line, I hope they throw Ensign Ro errrrr wrong series… Admiral Cain out of an airlock, that bitch deserves it.
