The ins and outs of Yvo’s life.

Well on Friday I got news that I have a brand new work schedule starting August 7th. I will work Monday - Friday 6am - 2:30pm. I like this schedule. I get the weekends off and I work decent hours during the week. Gives me enough time to look at other things and allows me to goto bed a whole hour later then now (currently 9pm - 9:30pm). Very exciting stuff (at least I think so).
Yesterday I watched Battlestar Galactica as I couldn’t see it on Friday night. Wow what a terrific episode. That show truly is fantastic. I really do end up on the corner of the couch barely sitting down watching BSG. Hopefully it is going to be on for a while. Other scifi shows like Stargate (SG1 & Atlantis) are beginning to become repition. It is like classical scifi man vs insert enemy of the week / season here. Whereas BSG has a common foe, the most foes are between humans and how they treat one another.
Miles came by yesterday so I could build his computer. I must say it is one very nice piece of computer hardware. He went AMD this time because honestly while I think Intel is more stable, AMD just has a better hardware offering right now, especially for what Miles wants to do. He also got a very nice video card. The guy is going to be flying through his games, that is for sure.
I just finished sending off an email to my lead to get two days off (19th & 22nd in August) so I can go on a mini vacation with Cam from 19th through 22nd of August. I think we both need a small vacation. Budget wise we will be able to handle it so that isn’t even a concern. We just need to get away from it all for a long weekend.
Alright well a very boring blog entry, nothing about my feeeelings and stuff like that. My feelings are just bleh at the moment I suppose. Maybe for another day.

Haven’t posted an update in a while, in part because of the big move that took place over the weekend. Boy it was a rough move. In 90F weather we were definitely facing a challenge considering we were moving to the top (3rd) floor in our condo complex.
Friday I worked until 11am because of the cable guy going to install our internet and the installation window was from 12 to 4pm. The cable guy showed up at 12:23pm, good thing I left work early for it. He was done pretty fast. Kind of weird… totally empty (and dirty) condo and the only thing in it is a laptop and a cable modem.
Cam didn’t have to work at Apple that day so we went to Winco earlier and bought $270 worth of groceries and necessities. Most I have ever spent at a grocery store. We then headed towards the apartment where we had to clean it before we moved everything. The kitchen was disgusting and so was the bathroom (hair from down below everywhere). So we took the time to clean and put our groceries away on Friday.
Saturday came around and it was time for the big move. I couldn’t pick up my Uhaul until 11am so we took the time to collect things around the house. 11am came around we went to pick up our Uhaul. The place in Fairwood messed up so we had to go to the highlands one and pick it up. Well this was an experience in itself. The first Uhaul was on empty and when I went to get gas it completely just fell through. The fuel line to the gas tank was cut as people were selling gas. The second one, a diesel Uhaul, was on full.
So we moved in all the boxes and the movers helped out with all our stuff. At 9:30pm (starting a noon) we had all the boxes and furniture in our apartment. We didn’t move our mattresses yet. We bailed at 10:15pm and slept like little children in an empty room at my parents’ house.
Sunday we completed the move and started unpacking. Miles came over to order computer parts with me because he needs my guidance and wants the coveted seal of approval from me. We decided to switch from Intel to AMD because Miles had heard good things of AMD and so have I. Lately they have been doing well in their game.
So definitely not something I want to do every day but it was worth it. I am officially living on my own with my girlfriend who I love so much. This really is the next phase of our relationship and I for one am very happy taking that step. She is such a wonderful person that I just smile thinking about it. Even now she is cleaning this room and she is signing and it just makes me happy.
Anywho… that is all for now…

ALMOST there. I really mean ALMOST. Only a few days left until the big move to the condo. Basically the movers are confirmed, the uhaul is confirmed and there isn’t much packing left other then clothes and some junk in the closet. Other then that though… we are good to go, no seriously.
Tonight Cammy and I saw Charlie and the Chocolate factory. It is almost like the original but this one gave Wonka a much better back story and he really was creepy but at the same time so dedicated in his job. After that we went to Mazatlan and had some cheep mexican food. Not as good as Mama’s Kitchen (Seattle’s best Mexican is right next door to Speakeasy) but definitely decent food.
Today a bunch of new people got hired at SE… so hopefully I can dump this shiatty 5am schedule soon. Who knows.
Welp that is all for now… not a big update… but an update none the less

Alright so yesterday things had to be said and done. I was planning this big update, but that sort of didn’t happen. I guess that is how it goes.
So how is it going in the life of Yvo other then being involved in other people’s problems.
Things are going well. Organizing to move is a big pain though. Next Saturday & Sunday is the big day. The cable guy is going to install my internet on Friday between noon and 4pm. Problem is that I won’t get out of work until 1:30 and probably not in that area until at least 2:15-2:30ish. So I was going to have Cam guard the premises for me the first 2 hours. However she is scheduled to work at her Apple job from 12 to 4. Maybe she can switch with someone else, but I don’t that that is possible. It is her new job and all so I would feel terrible if I had her tell her new job “I have to stay at home and wait for the cable guy.” In all honesty that would be a horrid thing to do. However it is just one of the many things we shall tackle.
Other then planning the move, nothing major is going on. Right now I am working ‘bitch’ shifts at work from 5am to 1:30, Fridays to Tuesdays. Definitely not the easiest schedule to date. I think Cam is having harder issues then me with it though. She always wants to talk at night and right now I can’t. Like last night, things didn’t go well between the two of us. Sometimes I really think there is this major communication gap between us. She says there is nothing wrong yet I feel the atmosphere is tense. She gets tense really easily as well by her surroundings, just like me. So when she does something out of the ordinary, such as sitting on the bed just doing nothing… it gets me all tensed up as it isn’t normal behavior.
Which brings me to the next subject and that is the disrespectful behavior of my brother towards Cam. Tjakko really doesn’t treat her with any decency and respect. In our family it is already known that Tjakko is going to be the type that demands a nuclear family (read: wife stays at home to take care of the 2.3 kids). However he is treating Cam like trash. Cam, who doesn’t know my brother very well, does a lot of things for him such as hand him free food (hey $6 saved due to no Taco Bell should be appreciated) or doing the wash. Apparently my brother threw a typical girl bitch fit, that my mom is known for doing, towards Cam about locking doors. The first night it was all my fault because I was downstairs last and was too lazy to do it (I’ll admit it) and the second night Cam was sitting on the couch and my brother asked her if she could lock the door. Hello… WHY DON’T YOU LOCK THE DAMN DOOR. I mean seriously, you just came through the damn thing because you got back from a Mariners game. Things will remained unresolved until Tjakko sincerely apologizes for his behavior and starts acting differently. I really don’t know what gave him the idea to contact the parents when he never fares well against them when they are on vacation. So in conclusion, people have to be more tolerant of one another. This includes myself as well, but others also. This could have all been avoided simply if people were more tolerant of one another.
Trying to get back into fun stuff. Cam and I have been spending a good chunk of time together. Right now were both busy due to work and our conflicting schedules, but the time we do have, we spend together. This past week we went to Coulon where I hadn’t been in a year or so. We had a a picnic that Cam prepared on one of the tables and then we walked around for a while. It was fun stuff.
A day before that she made delicious pasta. Boy I am a lucky SOB that she can cook. That I am sure about.
Anywho… things are looking bright for the upcoming few weeks. It is going to be a little scary moving out but I think Cam and I will do fine together. I just wish she could explain her feelings a little bit better to me instead of her Xanga, that and the fact that she has a hard time brushing things off. She has to do activities from working to sleeping in order to brush things off. I don’t know… talking usually helps for me, maybe she is different. That is my biggest concern when we live together. Not money, but our communication. None the less I love her very much and I know we will get through it.
Later gator,
Yvo

Yup… on the 22nd of this month… I am moving into my own apartment. Yesterday we had the closing for the condo and everything is set for the 22nd. The last few days have been a little hard since I am working 5am shifts again. Thank god that Cammy is okay with this.
More news later…

Well first of all I had my inspection at my newly bought condo last Friday. Unfortunately the inspection didn’t pass so now we have to get the current owners to fix something. Big electrical problem basically because they are overusing a circuit and it isn’t tripping, thus it can (and eventually will) cause a fire. Hopefully when that is resolved though, I can finally move in.
My work has provided me with a TON of boxes. I have over 20 HP boxes, 4 Apple Powermac G4 boxes and some other misc. network equipment boxes. I still want to get some small boxes and it will complete my selection.
So basically I worked all weekend. On Saturday I drove to work and parked for $3 around the block. Parking is cheap at 4:30 in the morning. After work the original plan was to go to where my parents were immediately but I had to get stuff at home and get my hair cut (finally!!). Finally got at the camping around 4ish. I was pretty tired but I tried to stay awake. It was my mom’s birthday. We went out for dinner to Lombardis… damn good italian food… but the ones in Seattle are better. I skipped desert and decided to go home. Man… I can hardly remember the drive back home, I was so tired. Got home and basically just fell into my bed asleep.
Sunday… woke up for work once more. Took a lot of calls and basically did tech support calls all day. Sometimes I just want a simple billing question because I can just relax my brain a little. Worked a half hour longer on my followups and open tickets. Got off at 1:30 knowing that I wouldn’t work the 4th. Went to the camp site again where there was Marilena, Tafi & Christina eating with us. Marilena sold our original home in Maple Valley and she is an awesome realtor. She currently is my realtor for the condo, so I am in good hands. Christina is their daughter. She was premed but decided to become a realtor. We see each other as family, probably because were all european (they are romanian). I swam a bit with Cammy who spent the last 2 days camping with my mom & sis. She was very relaxed. It is nice to see Cammy relaxed like that. I like it a lot better then when she is stressed. I first wanted to go home but decided on staying because I was so tired again.
Monday woke up insanely late, like around 11am. That isn’t good. I went to bed around midnight so that is a lot of sleep for my body. Plus it becomes harder to sleep that night. Last year I bought fireworks but this year I didn’t get anything because the original plan was to go to bed at 9pm. I went back home around 2 after a nice relaxing afternoon in the sun. I got major belly burns from that. Went home and relaxed some more. Cammy made me a delicious sandwich. Which became my dinner because I was stuffed afterwards. She didn’t feel too well and fell asleep for a few hours. I just watched some fireworks. I also watched 30 days, a TV show that runs on FX. He is the guy from Supersize Me where he ate McDonalds for 30 days. Now he just has a show called 30 days. In the first episode (I downloaded the episodes) his challenge was to live on minimum wage for 30 days and the second episode someone was on HGT and testosterone treatment for 30 days. Great TV and you actually learn something from it other then those lame reality shows. Anywho I could NOT fall asleep last night due to the heat and noise. I ended up going to sleep at midnight and waking up at 3:30. Actually Cammy shoke me to wake me up. What would I do without her. I was a little late getting to Yosieph (he takes me from Renton to Seattle) but he didn’t mind. He looked tired himself.
Did some work.. went home at 1:45 and got my emissions test done today. Just like last year… I am late on paying my tabs. Last year I didn’t pay them until August… this year I will make sure to pay them in July. I’ll do it this weekend because of the amount of spending I am doing right now for our apartment. After the emissions test I came home and watched some TV. I slept from 5pm to 7:30pm on the couch downstairs… that felt great.
Boring update… just a course of events.
